Two new regular routes opened from Katowice

New regular flights have commenced to serve Tirana in Albania and Varna in Bulgaria from Katowice, Poland. Charter flights have been the only connection to these destinations so far. The routes are served by Wizz Air and Ryanair.

Ryanair opened the Katowice–Varna route on Saturday June 1, 2024, operating three times a week (every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).

Wizz Air connected Katowice with the Albanian capital on Monday, June 3. This new connection is operated three times a week as well (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday).

In 2023, Katowice Airport recorded the best results in its history. It achieved record results in total passenger counts, both in scheduled and charter operations. Katowice handled exactly 5,609,022 passengers last year, which represents an increase of 1,189,931 (+26.9%) compared to 2022. For 2024, the airport has set a target of 6.1 million passengers.
