Sun d'Or, EL AL’s vacation and charter flight company presents its summer 2017 schedule. In addition to scheduled flights to Krakow (Mondays and Fridays) and Malaga (Sunday and Thursday), the airline announces 3 additional new destinations: Porto, Cagliari and Odessa. President Civil Aerospace at Rolls-Royce plc UK and CEO EL AL marked the signing of a cooperative agreement for Rolls-Royce maintenance and support services for Trent 1000 engines in EL AL's new Dreamliner Aircraft. This is part of EL AL's renewal plan announced by the airline this past October for renewing the wide-body fleet with 15 new Dreamliner aircraft with an option for purchasing 13 additional planes. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery at EL AL as of 2017.

Boeing and EL AL Israel Airlines agreed on an order today for up to nine 787 Dreamliners, valued at more than $2.2 billion at current list prices. Three of the orders will be added to Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website on Nov. 5 and the remainder will be posted as further contractual requirements are finalized. EL AL will also lease six additional 787s from independent leasing companies as the Israeli-flag carrier looks to replace and grow its existing long-haul fleet, increasing capacity and providing greater route flexibility to and from its hub at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv. "I am proud to unveil today the largest aircraft acquisition program in the history of EL AL. Our agreement to purchase 787 Dreamliners is a significant step forward in the optimization of our route network, enhancing passenger service and the overall flight experience," said David Maimon, President and Chief Executive Officer, EL AL. "These aircraft are the latest and most advanced in the world and are efficient and economical. I am convinced that this move is a great opportunity to meet the high standard expected of us and continue the momentum in EL AL's focus to provide our customer with maximum comfort, the newest and best technology and deliver a high standard of service on-board." EL AL announced the largest fleet renewal in the history of the airline. Negotiations will be held with the Boeing Company for the purchase and lease of 15 new Dreamliner wide-body 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft and an option for the purchase of 13 additional planes. The first aircraft will arrive in Mid-2017. CEO David Maimon: “I am proud to announce the largest fleet renewal plan in the history of EL AL. The Board of Directors today approved negotiations with the Boeing Company for the purchase and lease of 15 aircraft during the coming five years. This step is expected to be a major breakthrough in optimization of our route network as well as in customer service and the flight experience. During the next five years, these aircraft will replace the 747-400 and 767 fleets. They are intended for EL AL's medium- and long-range destinations (New York, Boston, Toronto, Beijing, Mumbai, South Africa and other destinations). The Dreamliner, the most innovative and advanced aircraft in the world, have many operational advantages including fuel efficiency and low maintenance costs".

As of 28.06.2015, EL AL is operating 3 direct flights on designated Boeing 767-300 aircraft on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to Logan International Airport in Boston. Flights will depart Ben-Gurion Airport at 12:30am and land in Boston 12 hours and 15 minutes later at 5:45am local time. The return flights from Boston to Tel Aviv depart on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9pm local time and land in Israel on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:05pm Israel time – an 11-hour flight. The 3 weekly flights to Boston will be operated on upgraded Boeing 767-300 aircraft and offer a Streaming system for the passengers’ personal entertainment experience. The planes are configured with 218 seats, including 22 bed-like seats in Business Class and 28 seats in Economy Class Plus

Travel Service is leasing Boeing 737-800 registration OK-TVF to El Al Israel Airlines. El Al is lacking aircraft for their summer expansion so Travel Service is providing ACMI (wet) lease of one aircraft that will be used mainly for flights from Tel Aviv to Prague (nine flights per week). Other rotations this aircraft from Tel Aviv leads to Lisbon and Zagreb. This lease is causing miss Up by El Al livery in Prague till the end of August.

El Al flights moving to Terminal 4 at Heathrow - this move was planned due to the closure of Terminal 1 in summer 2015. El Al offers up to 26 weekly flights to London – Heathrow and Luton. Of these, 11 weekly flights are to Heathrow. The flights are operated on B777-200, B747-400 and B767 aircrafts. EL AL's Business Class passengers will be hosted at the new Plaza Premium Lounge located in Terminal 4, until the re-opening of the King David Lounge in Terminal 4 at the end of the year.

El Al's CEO David Maimon and its CFO, Dganit Palti, presented the financial statements for the fourth quarter of 2014. In 2014 the Company's revenues aggregated 2.08 billion dollars, similar to revenues in 2013. The Company ended 2014 with a loss of 28 million dollars, compared to a profit of 26.7 million dollars in 2013. The loss in 2014 is due to the effects of "Protective Edge" Operation, an erosion of profitability due to the increased competition and accounting provisions for financial hedging that the Company executed.
