Smartwings Utilizes Airbus A330-300 for Select Flights Amidst Operational Delays

This past weekend, Smartwings operated select flights using an Airbus A330-300. The aircraft, which seats 436 passengers, arrived empty at Prague's Václav Havel Airport on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, June 22, the plane, registered 9H-PTP, serviced charter flights to Hurghada and Djerba. On Sunday, it flew to Hurghada again and, after returning to Prague in the morning, departed for Düsseldorf at noon.

The Smartwings fleet currently consists of 53 aircraft: 3 Airbus A320s, 2 Boeing 737-700s, 36 Boeing 737-800s, 2 Boeing 737-900ERs, and 10 Boeing 737 MAX 8s. This count does not include Cessna aircraft from the sister carrier UGJet. Additionally, six Czech-registered aircraft are based in Cologne, operating on Eurowings routes throughout the summer. These are OK-TSE, OK-TSF, OK-TSO, OK-TVT, OK-TVU, and OK-TVV.

Recently, Smartwings has faced significant delays, with some passengers experiencing up to a day-long wait. In response, the carrier has optimized its network, canceling summer charters from České Budějovice to Enfidha and Mallorca.
